Our past papers library contains two types of papers: official past papers from exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC) and practice papers from independent third-party providers. The official papers are real exams from previous years, while the practice papers are original questions written in the style of specific exam boards — giving you fresh, unseen material to work through.
We've integrated 725 free practice papers from 10 independent sources directly into the library. When you browse papers for a particular exam board, you'll see a “Practice papers available” section linking to these providers. This guide gives an overview of each source, what it offers, and who it's best suited for.

A Level
MadAsMaths
MadAsMaths is the single largest source of independent A Level maths practice papers. The site's IYGB (If You've Got the Brains) collection is enormous, covering Pure 1 and Pure 2, Mechanics/Modelling, Statistics, and Synoptic Pure papers for the current Edexcel specification, alongside a full archive of Core 1–4, Further Pure 1–4, and Further Mechanics/Statistics papers from the old modular spec.
What sets MadAsMaths apart is its three-tier difficulty system: Standard, Hard, and Very Hard. This makes it possible to build up confidence on accessible papers before progressing to genuinely challenging material. The collection also includes Further Maths papers, making it useful for students studying both A Level and Further Maths.
Best for: Students who want sheer volume of practice and a way to progressively increase difficulty. If you're studying Edexcel A Level Maths and want to exhaust every possible source of practice, start here.
crashMATHS
crashMATHS is the only independent source we've found that produces practice papers for all three major exam boards: AQA, Edexcel, and OCR. The papers use a Bronze, Silver, and Gold difficulty grading system, so you can select papers that match your current confidence level. The collection covers both A2 and AS Level.
While the total number of papers is smaller than MadAsMaths, the multi-board coverage makes crashMATHS uniquely valuable. AQA and OCR students in particular have very few third-party practice options, and crashMATHS fills that gap well.
Best for: AQA or OCR students who struggle to find independent practice papers, or any A Level student who wants graded-difficulty papers from a trusted source.
Naikermaths
Naikermaths provides a focused set of practice papers for Edexcel A Level Maths, concentrating on Pure 1, Pure 2, and Mechanics (Paper 3B). The papers are well-written and follow the style and difficulty of actual Edexcel exams closely.
With 32 papers, it's a solid mid-size collection that works well as a complement to MadAsMaths. If you've worked through the main IYGB papers and want fresh material in a similar style, Naikermaths is a good next stop.
Best for: Edexcel students looking for additional Pure and Mechanics practice beyond MadAsMaths.
Solomon Press
Solomon Press papers were originally written for the old Edexcel modular specification, covering Core 1–4, Mechanics 1, and Statistics 1. There are 12 papers per module, each with a corresponding mark scheme. The papers are hosted on Maths Genie's website.
Although these are for the old spec, the mathematical content still overlaps significantly with the current linear specification. The C1–C4 papers are particularly useful for pure maths topic practice — you just need to be aware that the question style and mark allocation may differ slightly from current papers.
Best for: Students who want extra topic-focused pure maths practice and don't mind working with legacy-format papers.
JethwaMaths
JethwaMaths offers practice papers for Edexcel A Level covering Pure, Further Pure, Mechanics, and Statistics. It's one of the few independent sources that includes dedicated Further Maths practice papers, which are otherwise very hard to find outside of official exam board material.
The collection is relatively small but well-targeted. If you're studying Further Maths and have already gone through the limited official past papers, JethwaMaths provides valuable additional practice.
Best for: Further Maths students looking for independent practice papers, and anyone wanting supplementary Edexcel A Level material.
GCSE
Corbett Maths
Corbett Maths is a well-known GCSE maths resource run by Matt Corbett, widely used in schools across the UK. The practice papers are designed to be board-agnostic, meaning they're suitable for students on any exam board — Edexcel, AQA, or OCR. Papers are available for both Foundation and Higher tiers.
This board-agnostic approach is unique among the GCSE sources listed here and makes Corbett Maths a good default choice regardless of which exam board your school uses. The papers are well-structured and widely trusted by teachers.
Best for: Any GCSE student, regardless of exam board. Particularly useful for AQA and OCR students who have fewer board-specific third-party options.
Maths Genie
Maths Genie is one of the most comprehensive free GCSE maths resources available. Its practice paper collection is the largest among GCSE sources, with 48 predicted papers specifically written for Edexcel. The site is also the host for the Solomon Press A Level papers.
The predicted papers aim to reflect the style, content, and difficulty of actual Edexcel GCSE exams, making them particularly useful for timed practice sessions in the weeks leading up to exams. Each paper comes with a full mark scheme.
Best for: Edexcel GCSE students who want the most exam-aligned predicted practice available. The sheer number of papers means you're unlikely to run out of material.
1st Class Maths
1st Class Maths produces board-specific practice papers for both AQA and Edexcel GCSE Maths. Unlike board-agnostic sources, these papers are tailored to the specific question styles, topic weightings, and mark schemes of each board.
With 12 papers across the two boards, it's a smaller collection, but the board-specific focus means each paper is a closer simulation of the real exam. This makes it especially valuable for AQA students, who have fewer third-party resources to choose from.
Best for: AQA students looking for board-specific GCSE practice, and Edexcel students wanting additional targeted material.
The GCSE Maths Tutor
The GCSE Maths Tutor provides practice papers for Edexcel GCSE Maths at both Foundation and Higher tiers. The papers are structured to mirror the format and style of real Edexcel exams, with each paper including a corresponding mark scheme.
While not the largest collection, these papers offer a useful supplement to Maths Genie's Edexcel papers. Having multiple independent sources ensures you get a variety of question styles and approaches, which is valuable for thorough exam preparation.
Best for: Edexcel GCSE students looking for supplementary practice beyond Maths Genie's larger collection.
Hannah Kettle Maths
Hannah Kettle Maths produces "Best Guess Predicted Papers" for Edexcel GCSE Maths. These are specifically designed to predict the topics and question styles most likely to appear in upcoming exams, based on analysis of previous papers and the exam board's specification weighting.
The collection is small at 8 papers, but the prediction-focused approach gives them a distinct purpose. They're most useful in the final stretch of revision, when you want to practise under conditions that simulate what you might actually face on exam day.
Best for: Edexcel GCSE students in the weeks before their exams who want prediction-based practice to focus their final revision.
